One of our favorite places to camp is in the San Isabel National Forest near Buena Vista, CO. It is just a few hours from the house and a beautifully scenic drive up 285. The best part of the drive is that we avoid I-70, otherwise known as a parking lot, and still are able to spend the weekend in the mountains! Yippee! We were joined by our great friends the Mohlenkamps and Cousin Catherine. Emmy got to stay home with Grandjan and Grandpa for a little tlc!

Cousin Catherine, Macy (a good friend), Colby, Adeline and Cooper Dog, and if you look close Jeremy's head is poking out of the tent

our friends new dog "Cliff" ... oh he's so cute!
they're other dog "Summit" and yes they are rock climbers... again another sport I don't par-take in!

We took the kids back to the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs to swim. (we went last summer as well)Unfortunately they had raised their prices and $87 we got to swim! I'm thinking this tradition just got broken!
The kids at the hot spring in the river... how neat!

Ham!
see the kids can entertain themselves for free if they just have a hill with soft grass nearby... this went on for at least 1/2 hour!

Oh and I didn't get a picture but another great part of camping in Buena Vista is the yummy hamburger stand, K's in the center of town! Sure to be busy and fabulous every time!

I definitely vote for free grass over $87 water! It looks like everyone had a good time, and the pics are beautiful.
